"A lovely stone built estate village on a steep hillside with stunning panoramic views over spectacular scenery.

The Thornhill family of Stanton Hall built much of the village for its' estate workers and it is a very attractive place. It has a setting few other villages can better; pretty cottages of mellow local gritstone flank the main street as it rises steeply up the hillside to Stanton Moor. The views from the village are breath taking and give you a feeling of being on top of the world. Nearby are the small hamlets of Stanton Woodhouse, Stanton Lees, Pilhough and Congreave."
